Our team of specialist abuse lawyers
Our team of dedicated specialist abuse lawyers includes Liz Duncan, Carly Sylvester, and James McNally.
The team has won a number of awards for their work in this complex area of law, including being named as a “Childhood Champion” corporate partner by the NSPCC.
Liz’s work was specifically highlighted in the 2025 edition of the independent guide, the Legal 500 describing her as being ’excellent with vulnerable clients’, regularly handling historic sexual abuse cases.
Carly Sylvester was named as Young Achiever of the Year at the Personal Injury Awards 2023. Announcing the award the judges highlighted Carly’s passion for the law, commenting that she doesn’t shy away from the hard work needed to be successful in her field. They also noted her track record of achieving impressive financial outcomes for her clients in a number of notable cases.
Partner James McNally was named Solicitor of the Year 2024 at the DASLS awards.
We are featured as a recommended firm by the independent legal guide, The Legal 500. We are also members of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers.
Each member of the team is happy to provide an initial case assessment completely free of charge on a confidential basis.
The team deals with a range of abuse claims including claims against individuals, employers and institutions such as schools, religious and youth organisations, hospitals and local authorities.
They are also experienced in recovering compensation for people who have been the victim of a violent crime under the government’s CICA criminal injuries scheme.
We offer a flexible range of funding options for abuse compensation claims, including No Win, No Fee funding. Victims of abuse need never let financial worries prevent them from seeking the justice they are entitled to as when we work on a No Win, No Fee basis it means that if you do not win your case you do not have to pay us a penny.
We offer legal help to survivors of abuse throughout England and Wales, providing a free and completely confidential legal helpline. Our specialist abuse lawyers are always happy to have an informal and confidential chat with you on the telephone or answer questions by email. We appreciate that survivors of abuse need to be free to take matters at their own pace and we are happy to work with you one step at a time.
