A teacher has been found guilty at Exeter Crown Court of sexual assault on an 18 year old Devon school girl while purporting to give her a sports massage.
The former teacher at Blundells School in Devon, was cleared of sexually assaulting two other girls, but may still face a jail sentence.
It was alleged that the teacher had kissed the girl's neck and tried to kiss her on the lips.
He had been an assistant housemaster at the prestigious boarding and day school in Tiverton, Devon. He was involved in coaching sports as well as teaching physics.
The man married his fiancee shortly after being suspended by Blundells and went to live in France, teaching adults.
The teacher was ordered by the judge to sign the Sex Offenders' Register and surrender his passport pending sentence.
A pre-sentence probation report was also ordered and bail was granted.
The teacher denied all allegations.
