The Harrods Redress Scheme
A Harrods compensation scheme has been launched by the company to deal with claims against the company for sexual abuse carried out by Mohammed Fayed while he was chairman of the company.
Our abuse team was directly involved in the development of the Harrods redress scheme.
The Harrods compensation scheme offers survivors a trauma-informed alternative to going through the court system which can re-traumatise survivors. It is designed to provide fair, reasonable and swift redress.
It provides for offers of compensation to be made solely on the basis of documentary evidence, without survivors being required give oral evidence at a court hearing.
Applications to the Scheme will not take away a claimant’s right to bring a court action, but if an offer under the Scheme is accepted then it will be in full and final settlement.
The scheme will remain open to new applications until 31 March 2026.
