Rachel Thain

Legal Executive

Legal Hero of the Year 2016 and Highly Commended in the CILEx National Awards 2018

Rachel is a lawyer specialising in abuse compensation claims, including rape, sexual assault, adult and childhood abuse and failure to remove. These cases relate to both historic and recent abuse. She has a degree in Psychology from the University of Warwick which she combines with her legal qualifications and experience to give her an invaluable insight into the issues central to abuse litigation.

She deals with Criminal Injuries (CICA) claims as well as conventional civil law cases against a diverse range of defendants, such as schools, the NHS, local authorities and Churches. She is tenacious and determined, but is also known for her caring and compassionate approach.

In March 2016 Rachel was presented with the DASLS Legal 'Hero' of the Year Award by BBC legal expert, Joshua Rozenberg. The award commended Rachel for her dedication and commitment in her work as an abuse lawyer, demonstrating what it means to go beyond the 'extra mile' for her clients. In 2018 she was Highly Commended in the CILEx National Awards.

Rachel’s dedication to helping those who have suffered abuse is also highlighted through her charity work. As well as links with NSPCC, Rachel was honoured to become an Ambassador of the charity Enough Abuse UK. She passionately supports the aims of Enough Abuse UK in offering education to prevent child abuse, which she has put into action by organising specialist training events.

Rachel is always happy to talk issues through on the phone in absolute confidence.
